  • [-] Kevin McCarthy - Vice President
    Kevin McCarthy - Vice President

    With an Honours Degree in Business Management from the University of Limerick, specialising in Accounting and IT, Kevin McCarthy joined Merrill Lynch International Investment Bank to work as a trader. He led a team that worked on new bond launches and resolved issues with clients and prospective investors.

    Joining Shanahan Engineering as a project manager for the maintenance division in 2009, Kevin developed new business for the division and project managed SEL shutdowns across the UK and Ireland. In 2011 Kevin worked as a project manager with SEL’s construction division in South Africa, as part of the leadership team that brought the hydro test to Boiler 6 in Medupi - a first for Shanahan Engineering. After leading up the Shanahan Sales team with the Sales, Commercial and Recruitment functions reporting into him since 2015, Kevin is now the global Vice President for all of Shanahan Engineering.

     

  • [-] John Cullen - Chief Financial Officer
    John Cullen - Chief Financial Officer

    With both a BComm and Masters in Accounting from UCD, John Cullen has over 27 years’ experience in a diversity of roles relating to the chemical distribution, construction, engineering and software industries.

    To date John has amassed extensive commercial experience, working with both owners and medium-sized companies, having worked as financial controller for CJ O’ Shea Construction, and as financial director for Ellis & Everard (Chemical Distribution). He has significant experience in closing financial sales and was also a key member of the team in the trade sale of Shanahan Engineering to the Wood Group.

    Appointed as CFO for the Wood Group E & PS  in 2010, having previously been financial director since 2003, John brings all of this experience to bear on the commercial aspects of Shanahan Engineering’s projects. Amongst his objectives for Shanahan Engineering is the development of a sustainable and growing business with the right economies of scale, as well as a determined focus on business ethics and compliance.

  • [-] Iulian Vdovicenco - Sales Director
    Iulian Vdovicenco - Sales Director

    Iulian has a BSc in Business Administration & Management from The University of Essex, and almost 10 years experience in the Power Generation industry.

    Iulian first joined Shanahan Engineering in 2018 as Sales Manager, where he was responsible for securing subcontracting opportunities for construction, commissioning and maintenance across power generation projects. In addition, he has experience within combined cycle, coal fired, CSP, geothermal, biomass, hydro and LNG technologies. Iulian has now developed his career by moving into his new Sales Director role. 

  • [-] Conor Moran - Consultancy Services Director

    With an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering from University College Dublin, Conor has over 15 years construction management and power generation experience, both in Ireland and internationally. After graduating in 2000, he began his career with BOC Gases before moving into the Power Generation industry as a Mechanical Engineer on the construction of one of Irelands first Independent Power Plants at Tynagh Energy. 

    Conor joined Shanahan Engineering as a scheduler on the Hunstown CCGT project in 2005, progressing onto the role of Mechanical Works Manager on the same project. Having spent some time working in the domestic construction industry, he then re-joined Shanahan Engineering in 2012 as Mechanical Works Manager for the Dorad 800MW CCGT project in Israel, managing the mechanical construction contracts on the project. In 2014 he returned to head office where he was responsible for the companies bid process and for providing engineering support to on-going international construction & commissioning projects.

    In November 2015 Shanahan Engineering appointed him as Consultancy Services Manager (OTR) with responsibility for the companies growing Consultancy Services division. In this role he is tasked with owning the Consultancy Services Order to Remittance process and successfully managing the activities associated with the delivery of the customer specific contractual requirements.

  • [-] Gerard McInerney - VP Global TFS - OTR
    Gerard McInerney - VP Global TFS - OTR

    Since joining Shanahan Engineering in 1996 as a project engineer on a MHI CCGT power plant in the Netherlands, Ger has been deployed on numerous assignments globally with Shanahan Engineering, in a variety of different roles such as, project Engineer, claims & contracts management, LTSA site management, defect liability period /warranty engineer, construction management, construction coordination and plant commissioning.

     With both a BEng (honors) degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master degree in Construction Project Management, Ger McInerney has over 20 years of experience in the Power Generation Industry.

     In 2015 Ger joined the Company’s Head Office team and assumed the role of Global TFS Manager. Ger is responsible for the Company’s Global Field Service business to ensure that both customer and contractual specific requirements are met through the selection and effective deployment of our technical field staff globally. Ger is delighted to be part of this growing business and the challenges it brings as the Company expands globally. 

  • [-] Iain Salley - Contracts Director
    Iain Salley - Contracts Director

    Iain has over 30 years’ experience working in the fields of commercial & project management, contract administration, and bid management. He gained a BSc in Surveying from Trinity College Dublin in addition to his diploma in construction economics from Bolton Street.

    Iain has wide experience in the construction sector reflected in his position as director for a construction & consultancy group for over 10 years, managing the business and operating under varying forms of contract. He also has extensive experience of Public Private Partnerships (PPP) having worked as development director in that arena, and this was reflected in his appointment as Chair of the Project Finance (PPP) Group – at the Irish Business & Employers Federation (IBEC).

    In 2012 Shanahan Engineering appointed him as contracts director, with responsibility for global commercial management of all projects, proposals and bid management, as well as corporate compliance and administration. In this role he is tasked with establishing consistent commercial procedures for all projects, instilling a culture of commercial awareness amongst all project staff, the day-to-day management of the commercial department, as well as the establishment of a dedicated team and structure for proposals and bid management

     

  • [-] Maurice Rodgers - H.S.S.E Director

    Maurice has 25 years of working experience as a HSE professional with an excellent working reputation and track record of driving HSE cultural change, best practice working methods & legal compliance. He is experienced working within the Power Generation, Pharmaceutical, and Semi-Conductor industries. Maurice is a highly energetic and motivated individual with strong direct and indirect managerial skills. Maurice has a proven ability to drive large scale change programs working with a practical, flexible, and professional approach.

    Maurice's previous experience includes working in his native Cork with ICI Chemicals before moving on to head up EHS at Lynch Group and Gazprom Russia before joining DPS Engineering, where he was a HSE project lead at the Intel facility Leixlip. Maurice Joined Shanahan Engineering in 2015 and holds an MSc in Environmental, Health, and Safety from the University of Sunderland.

  • [-] Paul Mullins - Quality Program Director
    Paul Mullins - Quality Program Director

    Paul has 30 years’ experience in the Power Generation Industry working in numerous overseas locations and on various Power Station Projects representing many of the significant OEM & EPC Companies.

    Paul joined Shanahan Engineering in 1996 and specialized in the field of Instrumentation and Control as a  construction supervisor and commissioning engineer until 2003 when he joined the Management Team. Since joining the Management Team, Paul has developed from Resident LTSA Manager, Project Manager, Quality Compliance Manager, and now Quality Program Director. During his time managing UK Construction Projects for Shanahan Engineering, Paul developed detailed knowledge and experience with the National Agreement for the Engineering Construction Industry (NAECI) and Industrial Relations Management. He was also a member of the Engineering Construction Industry Association (ECIA) IR Council for the UK Construction Industry.

    Since becoming the Quality Program Director for Shanahan Engineering, Paul has worked with the team to structure that Quality Management System (QMS), gaining Certification to the ISO 9001:2015 Standard. He is also part of our Parent Company, Ethos Energy, Quality & Service Excellence Management Team for the development and promotion of Service Excellence within the Organisation.
