Yanbu II - Project Update
On the 14th of January at 3pm local time, Shanahan Engineering achieved a major milestone for customer Hanwha Engineering & Construction - the first firing of the auxiliary boiler at the Yanbu II project in Middle East.
This signals the first success for the 80 strong Shanahan Engineering team which is working on the Oil fired power station and desalination project in Yanbu Industrial City.
The firing of the boiler involved a huge team effort to bring fuel on site and transfer fuel to achieve the final success.
The on-site SEL commissioning team consists of those developing the program (procedure preparation), to the operations team down, to the team performing the system walk downs / TOC package reviews.
Tae Lim of Hanwha E&C said; “There is not enough that could be said to express the appreciation for all the hard working people who made this possible.”
Shanahan Engineering was awarded the commissioning contract early last year by Hanwha E&C to carry out the start-up work as part of their EPC contract.
